One of the regular player here. This is an old course like Royal Hua Hin, big and thick tree along every holes. The course is very challenge especially from the blue tee. The tee shot must be very precise and must know which green to play before tee shot, there are 2 greens for each hole. Even some time hit a good tee shot off the tee but if you didn't know which green is used, you still have some tree block your approach shot. The greens are a bit slow but undulated, a good combination of lie and speed is needed, otherwise you will end up with 3 putts easily. The wind here is unpredictable. it seems to be different feeling of wind between fairways and near the greens, this might be because of the big tree alongside the fairway deviated the actual wind. You should trust your caddie, most of them are very good. Also a friendly atmostphere here, a good hospitality from staffs. But beware of the group of owner's friends. They play here almost every day and they have their own privilege, especially the ladies group. Do not pay attention to them and try to stay away from them, you will have a good memorable round here.

Just played on the weekend (Saturday). Still one of a good old course of Thailand. Trees are big. Double greens have made its surface smooth all the time. Not so crowded on Saturday and I finished my round in 4.15 hrs... excellent. On time for tee off time is required (good thing). And just noticed that there are caddies stay alone the fairway (around 220-250 yards off the tee) to help golfers find lost ball in the forest ... good idea .. no lost time. Good value for your money ...

Played weekend for 5.5 hrs, we take golf cart for the game and hope to play the game more enjoyable, but it is a terrible arrangement: 1/ They don't allow to drive over fairway. 2/ They don't allow caddies to drive the cart. 3/ After we make a stoke we need to walk back to the cart and drive for short distance, that meams we walk almost bouble distance than the directline to the green. This is my first experience like that, so never use golf cart for this course.

Old course, nothing special, just as I see in Taiwan. There are water hazards both side from tee to green in some holes, keep the balls on fairway, at least in rough, because trees are large, old course.

Decent course with lots of trees and lateral water hazards. Some fairways very tight. Liked the "old" feel of the course. Enjoyed the day's golf and played reasonably quickly too. Had a very charming caddy.

Played July 5, 2006. Wet fairways after night of rain but still in good condition. Greens were very slow, needed to make a firm stroke. Food at clubhouse for a quick-dish, waiting time was about 20-30min even only a couple of tables. It should not called a "quick-dish". Overall, it was worth to play here, as I only paid for some chage. Ciao

Some previous posters have not played the same course. Only 40 mins from central Bkk for an early start. Always enjoy golf here. However, 1) not allowing caddies to drive carts is ridiculous. Players could easily sign disclaimers. 2) In Jan 09 the club had introduced new rules - only 1 person per cart, in addition to caddies not being able to drive. Seems just a money making exercise. During the dry season, when carts are ok on fairways, 2 to a cart was ok, but if they persist with 1 person per cart and no caddies driving they will lose custom. A pity because it is a well laid out, mature course and always friendly. Please please, Rose garden, be more flexible about cart usage and caddy driving.

I just come to play this course today as the first time. It's a nice course, friendly reception, good fairway, good green and good caddy...

Even though this is one of Thailand's oldest courses, and the green fees are lower elsewhere, this is still a great place to play. If you like a challenge, that being tight fairways and tough pin placement, as opposed to just long, like most Thai resort courses, this is the place to play. The courses is in very good condition, and the facilities although not being the newest, are clean and well presented. They have a "no-tip" policy for the caddies, which is a bit strange, but you can still slip them a 100 or 200 Baht (secretly) if they were any good. Well worth a game at this course, but no matter what level you play at, expect a challenge on Rose Garden.

played here on a saturday and the pace of play is just very slow. the course is decent but looks its age. greens were ok but lacked consistency in speed -some medium some fast. green fees were good value for money.not the best conditioned course around and a bit far to get to.
